Our primary hub for water hyacinth harvesting and weaving is in Phayao, northern Thailand. This province is home to over 30 full-time female weavers who meet daily in collaborative team settings to complete ongoing orders. They are responsible for the majority of our water hyacinth bag collection and play a key role in ensuring quality and consistency across each product.

Nationwide Network of Weavers and Stitchers

Beyond Phayao, our operations extend across several regions including Nakhon Sawan, Phatthalung, and Nakhon Si Thammarat. These provinces focus on seagrass bag production using locally sourced krajood. The finishing and hand-stitching of these seagrass products are completed in rural communities in Chiang Mai, where generations of women continue their craft in small family-based groups. The Straw Bag Company now supports more than 80 staff members throughout Thailand, including material harvesters, weavers, seamstresses, quality control coordinators, and production leads.
